Today, we take you through one of the projects we implemented for a prominent academic institution in Dubai. The project involved upgrading the infrastructure of their STEM & Design technology laboratories with robust, efficient and advanced laboratory furnishings.

Client: One of the leading British primary schools in Dubai, with the highest KHDA rating for ‘Innovation, Social Studies, Moral Education and National Agenda’.

Solution we offered: LabSpace has supplied and installed a wide range of customised laboratory furnishings for their STEM & Design laboratories. As a turnkey laboratory engineering solutions provider, we have also offered them resources and educational training with the assistance of Atlab, Centena’s education vertical.

Main Scope of Work:

• The STEM labs, equipped with advanced laboratory furnishings, blend efficiency, design and functionality, making it suitable for robotics and STEM experiments.
• The state-of-the-art Design Technology labs provide a proactive environment for designing, prototyping, and experimentation. Equipped with top-tier design tools, these customised workspaces encourage collaboration and teamwork amongst students, nurturing creative skills and fostering innovation.
• The labs are designed as Floor-Mounted & Heavy-Duty LabSpaces, harmoniously blending sturdiness, stability, and practicality.
• The Floor-Mounted design provides a secure and stable solution with cabinets mounted directly on the floor, eliminating the need for extra support structures. Cabinets feature a toe-kick clearance with worktops securely attached on top of the structure, ensuring unwavering stability.
• The Heavy-Duty LabSpace design features robust frames that are directly screwed into the floor with attached cabinets that are securely mounted beneath the worktop. As a result, it boasts increased weight-bearing capacity.
• The worktops were constructed using 40mm thick solid beech wood and 18mm thick high-pressure melamine laminated boiled waterproof plywood, providing a longer lifespan, exceptional strength, durability, chemical resistance, easy maintenance, and high moisture resistance.
• The cabinets were built using 18mm thick high-pressure melamine laminated boiled waterproof plywood.
