It requires careful planning and execution to create a safe, efficient and productive space for learning & research. This case study gives you an insight into how our team partnered with a renowned international school in Sharjah, UAE, in revamping their lab infrastructure, creating a cutting-edge environment for students and staff that fosters creativity and innovation. Objectives: Being a school that is widely recognised in Emirates for education innovation, they approached us for a complete refurbishment of their laboratories to create flexible learning spaces for students and staff that are conducive for learning and research. We closely worked with them through every stage, right from Consultation to Design, Production & Installation, to set up 12 cutting-edge laboratories with contemporary lab furnishings.

Challenges: Despite facing certain bottlenecks owing to a shorter time frame, we still went beyond the expectations of our client and was able to successfully deliver the project within 6 weeks.

Solution: Designed as a floor-mounted labspace, each of the labs has a scalable layout and a robust infrastructure that facilitates efficient utilization of space, fosters engagement, fuels creativity and offers an environment ideal for experiments and research endeavours. The floor-mounted furniture includes Worktops, Storage cabinets, TOF laboratory fittings, Polypropylene sinks and Constant Air Volume (CAV) Bypass fumehoods which are versatile, adaptable and ensures optimal performance. The modular laboratory furniture offers students the flexibility and convenience to move around the lab, acting as an ideal space to work on their projects. The worktops were crafted using 16mm thick Trespa, 12mm thick DuPont Corian for Food Lab, and 40mm thick solid beech wood for DT labs & art rooms which stand out for their exceptional durability, flexibility and functionality. The cabinets were made using 18mm thick high-pressure melamine laminated boiled waterproof plywood that offers longevity and resistance to water damage.
